While serving time in prison, Carl "Crusher" Creel was chosen by the evil Asgardian Loki to be his pawn against Thor, god of thunder.. Imbibing a magic potion, Creel gained the amazing ability to absorb the properties of any substance he touched. Since that day, the Absorbing Man has become a steel, diamond, and even the enchanted uru metal of Thor's hammer in his numerous battles with the Asgardian Avenger! And, although he has been defeated every time, Creel remains a constant threat to the thunder god!
