Random Encounter
The U.S. government hired the mutant assassin, Random, to arrest the X-patriots - a group of reactionary mutants who had taken over a hospital. The government-sponsored mutant team, X-Factor, arrived on the scene and battled Random to a standstill, until team leader, Havok, came up with a solution; he paid Random to abandon his assignment. Random cheerfully walked off with a check for $4,000.
