After surmounting a crisis that brought a whole new group of X-Men to Xavier's School, the original students departed to embark on new lives. Only Cyclops remained behind, to preside over more cosmopolitan team, including Banshee, from Ireland, the American Indian powerhouse called Thunderbird, and the Canadian berserker Wolverine! Tragedy soon struck, however, when Thunderbird became the first X-Man to lose his life in battle!
