Hard times hit Excalibur just when the world needed them most - as mutant-human tensions reached new levels of intensity! With Cerise, Kylun and Micromax embroiled in their own personal concerns, Captain Britain lost in chronological limbo, and Meggan and Feron catatonic, the team fell apart. But Nightcrawler, Phoenix and Shadowcat rededicated themselves to their mission, and joined with the Muir Island Mutant Research Center to form the new Excalibur!
