General Colin Powell Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff
Powell is the Chairman of the committee formed by the combined Chiefs of Staff the Armed Forced, and acts as the liaison in the executive office. Prior to his role as chairman of the oint Chiefs of Staff, he served as Assistant to the President for national Security Affairs, and has served in the Army since 1958. The combined Chiefs of Staff are responsible for coordinating all military activities of the four military services. Powell serves as the military advisor to the President.
