Gas Mask
Gas masks are worn to protect soldiers in the event of chemical warfare. They are equipped with a filtered inlet valve that allows the wearer to breathe, and voicemitter, which enables GIs to talk to one another. Soldiers also wear chemical protective suits weighing 3.75 lbs., equipped with monitors for vital signs, and gloves, booths and hoods made of butyl rubber.
