Birth of the U.S. Marines
The United States Marine Corps was organized in 1775 and its the oldest branch of the military service. Operating as a unit within the United States Navy, the Marine Corps consists of aviation, artillery and infantry branches. Over the years in many of our nation's conflict, the U.S. Marines have served as a small independent army. Throughout their history the Marines have always been known for their bravery and gallantry.
